Through Experian’s generous donation in support of financial education, the NFCC is pleased to offer eligible participants* in the Sharpen Your Financial Focus program a free 12-month membership in Experian’s freecreditscore.com product.** The features available through freecreditscore.com can be used to supplement the financial skills learned through the Sharpen Your Financial Focus program.

In addition to your credit score, freecreditscore.com provides alerts, access to your Experian credit report, calculators and interactive tools, a mobile app, educational articles, Score Planner™ (available to members and non-members), access to fraud resolution representatives—and more—for one year from the date of activation, FREE!

Consider the following features of Experian’s freecrediscore.com:

Credit Report

Your personal credit report contains details about your identity and financial behavior. Experian® collects and organizes data about your payment history from your creditor’s and public records. In general, creditors forward information to the credit reporting agencies monthly.

Credit Score***

Your credit score is calculated by formulas that determine your creditworthiness, helping lenders to evaluate the risk of extending credit to you. A credit score can change frequently and goes up or down as information in your credit report changes. Checking your credit score is one way to keep track of what affects it, positive or negative. A credit score above 700 signals good credit and typically results in better rates than those with scores below 700.

Alerts and Credit Monitoring

Alerts and credit monitoring can help you defend against fraud, identity theft, and inaccurate negative information on your credit report. With freecreditscore.com, you are alerted to any key changes to your report, including suspicious activity and potential errors.

Fraud Resolution

If you find suspicious activity on your credit report, Experian can help investigate identity theft related issues. Or, if you become a target of fraud, a trained Fraud Resolution Agent will assist you to address the damage.

*A Sharpen Your Financial Focus participant is eligible to receive the freecreditscore.com product after completing a financial review with a participating NFCC member agency and being given the opportunity to utilize the financial self-assessment tool MyMoneyCheckUp.

**If you have been provided with a free membership code through an NFCC member agency, please go to freecreditscore.com/NFCC to activate the code.

***The scores you receive are provided for educational purposes to help you understand your credit. Lenders use many different credit scoring systems, and the score you receive may not be the same score used by lenders to evaluate your credit.

†The freecreditscore.com products will be made available to eligible program participants while supplies last.
